About Flip It Forward
Founded by real estate professionals who wanted to give back by donating the profits from their investment properties, Flip it Forward is a community of volunteers, businesses, nonprofit partners, and supporters who care about a common cause. Our team works together to donate and source the expertise, time, money, and attention needed to create long-term value and mutual impact for the people and purposes we serve.
Our first mission: Supporting the people of Lahaina in rebuilding their community.
How it works
We believe in focusing on your strengths. Or in other words: sticking to what you know. What we’re good at—what we have decades of experience and success doing—is investing in real estate. To that end, our first mission is to donate the profits from a fix-and-flip project. Here’s how it works:
Phase 1: Buy a Property
We locate and purchase a property and find a partner to help renovate, or “flip” it.
Phase 2: Fix it Up
We work together with local experts to complete the renovation.
Phase 3: Flip It Forward
We sell the property and donate the proceeds to a worthy cause.
Mission: Lahaina
Our first Flip It Forward project is dedicated to the people of Lahaina affected by the deadly wildfires. For Flip It Forward founder Fred Rea, Lahaina has been a home away from home since 2020, and he immediately recognized his opportunity to help. Expecting news cycles and public interest to fade long before recovery and rebuilding efforts could make an impact, Fred and his team initiated the first Flip It Forward mission to provide long-term support to the people of Lahaina for years to come.
That mission, the first of many, is now complete.

The Story of Flip It Forward
Fred shares the personal story behind Flip It Forward and what led him to start this charitable project. As he stands in a house that most would pass by, Fred talks about loss, community, and why giving back matters, especially to the people of Lahaina.
This project isn’t about profit. It’s about rebuilding lives.

Integrity in Social Good
When we set out to do this, we knew it would be a challenge. But we believed enough in our own values and the importance of our mission to do it anyway. These are our guiding principles:
Create value: From giving back to the people impacted by global issues, to elevating our trusted partners, to providing our supporters with trustworthy, bullshit-free opportunities to engage with causes they care about, we’re building a real and valuable community for long-term impact.
Walk the talk: We will not ask for something we’re not willing to give ourselves.
Build trusted teams: We will partner with nonprofits and businesses who share our values, holding our partners accountable and asking them to do the same for us.
Be open: Being open means always being authentic, transparent, and inviting open dialogue about our operations. But it also includes open-mindedness and flexibility so we can listen to the needs of our partners and the people we serve and act accordingly.
