About the Job
This role is an integral part of the accounting team and supports accounting, finance and operations functions that ensure the success of our loan portfolio.
Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Securitization
Oversee all accounting and operational aspects of Rain City’s securitization program(s), including transfer accounting under ASC 860, waterfall modeling, and investor reporting.
Manage communication with trustees, rating agencies, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders.
Maintain reporting processes and internal controls to support quarterly investor packages and securitization compliance.
Audit Ownership
Lead the annual audit process, including planning, documentation, and resolution of audit inquiries.
Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules.
Act as primary liaison with external audit partners, ensuring timely delivery and clean audit outcomes.
Tax Oversight
Coordinate all tax-related matters with external advisors (federal, state, local, and entity-specific filings).
Oversee tax provisioning, planning, and compliance across multiple entities.
Manage calendar-year and fiscal-year deadlines, and support strategic planning on tax structure optimization.
Skills and Attributes
CPA required.
Prior experience mortgage lending required
Prior experience with structured finance or securitization strongly preferred.
6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and private industry.
Strong working knowledge of ASC 860, ASC 810, & ASC 310, GAAP financials, and corporate tax requirements.
Proven ability to manage third-party audit and tax partners and to work cross-functionally with finance, capital markets, and legal teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.

Rain City Capital offers a hybrid work environment, which means employees perform their duties remotely or in person and will be expected to check email, phone, and text messages throughout the day and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal company workday. This role must be willing to commute to our local office on a weekly basis, at a minimum of once per week, based on the needs of the position, the department, and the company.
