Pay range: $90,000 - $115,000 annually

About the Job

This role is an integral part of the accounting team, supporting accounting, finance, and operations functions that ensure the success of our loan portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing day-to-day:

  • Supervise activities for monthly close, including management of trial balance, accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Review the accounting team’s daily and monthly transactions for accuracy

  • Review team members’ balance sheet reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly and annual consolidation financial statements

  • Analyze, correct, research, verify transactions, discrepancies and keep organized and up-to-date records

  • Prepares and/or reviews regulatory filings, including but not limited to B&O tax and NMLS reporting

  • Calculates, manages, and prepares shareholder distributions

  • Reviews and approves payroll, and is responsible for all state and federal payroll reporting and payroll tax payments

  • Participate and support in financial and tax audits and schedules

  • Manage and maintain the firm’s borrowing bases

  • Ensure adequate firm liquidity for daily anticipated daily loan fundings, loan auctions, loan draws and operational expenses.

  • Work with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate transfer of information

  • Communicate and collaborate with your team on day-to-day activities as well as special projects and process improvement

  • Suggest and maintain accounting policies and procedures that adhere to GAAP Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential

  • Performs ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as required

Skills and Attributes

  • CPA License Required

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with some experience in a lending environment (mortgage company or bank) preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting from an accredited institution

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred

  • Understanding of financial systems, processes, and internal controls

  • Committed to the accurate and timely completion of all accounting functions

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including the ability to develop and communicate policies and training

  • Ability to work well and maintain a positive attitude in a consistently fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel

  • Possess excellent judgment and the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information

  • Willingness to help other team members/departments when needed, including occasionally working flexible hours

Rain City Capital offers a hybrid work environment, which means employees perform their duties remotely or in person and will be expected to check email, phone, and text messages throughout the day and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal company workday. This role must be willing to commute to our local office on a weekly basis, at a minimum of once per week, based on the needs of the position, the department, and the company
