Title: Construction Relationship Manager

Years at Rain City: 3

Can you describe what you do at Rain City Capital?

I process the loan advances for our construction and renovation clients while monitoring the progress of the projects.

How or why did you come to work for Rain City?

At the time Rain City had a growing construction portfolio and they needed someone with construction admin experience to manage them. Pam called me and after a quick lunch with Fred, I was hired.

Pretty straightforward! So what do you like about working here?

The staff. We’re seriously like the Island of Misfit Toys here. It’s fantastic.

And on this island, do you have a special talent?

Is putting together Star Wars Legos a special talent?

It definitely is.

Then that.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? (aside from Star Wars Legos)

Tattoos and watches.

What advice would you give yourself ten years ago?

See Tom Petty in concert as many times as you can.

And do you have any pet peeves?

My wife leaves cabinet doors and drawers open, and then just walks away. I think she does it on purpose.

Ha. Do you have any tips for a good work/life balance?

At 5:01 pm, turn the work stuff off. You only have so many seconds on this rock. Enjoy your time with family.

What’s your favorite funny story about yourself?

I tie my shoes backwards. My mom is a lefty, I’m a righty. So when she was teaching me to tie my shoes she was going about it like a lefty would.

Where’s your favorite place to be?

In my backyard on a sunny Saturday afternoon picking vegetables from our garden beds, with a refreshing cocktail.

So, if you were to win a high school year book award right now, what would it be?

“Most likely to bring rice crispy treats to a company potluck”

What is the best, worst, or weirdest job you’ve ever had?

In college I worked a crepery. I would spin the batter out on two hot plates with the little stick and paddle and shove fruits and meats into them. My friends loved it but I hated smelling like crepe batter all day.

What are the top 3 highlights of your life?

Asking out the cute receptionist.

The birth of my son.

Seeing AC/DC with my dad.

That’s awesome. Do you have a quote or life motto you like to live by?

Don’t Lose Touch

Finally, how does it feel to be the SECOND biggest Star Wars fan in the office?
